It gives me immense pleasure to see that many of these customers have moved forward in the ITSM continuum. Vantage Adds Data Center Facilities Management Services
Vantage Data Centers announced addition of Critical Facilities Management services to its list of offerings. CFM services are a way to outsource day-to-day data center management expertise.
The Santa Clara, California-based provider’s data center management suite includes consulting and custom on-site support from Vantage employees. That support goes as far as shipping and receiving of equipment, landscape maintenance, and trash removal.

Schneider Electric Recalls PowerPact J-Frame Circuit Breakers Due to Fire, Burn, Electrical Shock Hazards | CPSC.gov
Hazard: The circuit breakers will not trip during an overload condition.
The recall involves PowerPact J-frame molded case circuit breakers with thermal-magnetic trip units. The circuit breakers are made of black plastic and have a three-position breaker handle that indicates whether the breaker is off, on or tripped. The recalled circuit breakers are rated for 150 to 250 amps, have interruption ratings of D, G, J, L and R. They were manufactured in two pole and three pole configurations with either lug-in/lug-out or plug-in (I-Line) style connectors.
EMC Leaps To IT as a Service: Redefining the Organizational Model
In redefining our IT organization at EMC, we brought in consultants to bridge the old IT world with the new, devised a fresh strategy and workstreams to execute on our roadmap, and used added insights about our customers to define wins for IT. We still were struggling with several organizational components; we had not taken the leap fully into a services-based organizational structure. We had to address how teams worked together. Each group had its own goals and objectives, and what was important to our end customer was too often getting lost in the “interlock.”

Enterprise System Monitoring – Value versus Cost
For the last 8 months I’ve focused most of my customer facing efforts on Foglight accounts that use Foglight for Enterprise System Monitoring. I engaged these accounts in the acting role of Customer Success Manager and have been active on a weekly basis in that role for many of these accounts. The Enterprise classification simply means that a firm monitors one or more technologies, on more than 100 and up to tens-of-thousands of servers.
